It’s definitely not a new idea.
This principle of cooling is known for many centuries now.
Fridges like this one were used in Egypt more than 2500 years ago, and are still in use in some parts of Africa.

Actually she didn’t invent this. This is a variation of the pot-in-pot refridgerator invented by Mohammed Bah Abba. She just replaced the clay pots with metal containers.

Also, it requires a low humidity- although with the driving force of heat, this might not be required. Very interesting, even so. We all do this hiking when we dip our handkerchiefs in the stream and place it around our neck to cool ourselves.

Even with the difficulties, my hat’s off to her for her drive to innovate. Keep it up!
